Less than a year after The Beatles appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show in the 60’s, a concert known as The T.A.M.I. show took place in Los Angeles. Filmed at the Santa Monica Civic Centre in October 1964, the show was effectively the first concert movie of the rock n roll era and captured performances from musicians as diverse as Smokey Robinson, Gerry and The Pacemakers, Chuck Berry, The Beach Boys, Marvin Gaye, James Brown, The Rolling Stones and many more. Critical accolades have long boasted of the show’s importance to rock n roll history; we are now fortunate enough to experience for ourselves what all the fuss is about a short 46 years later.
