For the kid in all of us, The Muppets offer a somewhat non-typical assortment of holiday songs on A Green and Red Christmas. For every “standard” holiday song like Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas and It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year, the always awesome Muppets throw in some terrific surprises like Pepe singing Merry Christmas Baby and Floyd, Zoot and Animal tackling The Man With The Bag. This record is all about not taking the holidays too seriously; it is a light-hearted, enjoyable listen. If listening to the Swedish Chef’s Christmas Smorgasbord doesn’t somehow put a smile on your face, a lump of coal shall be awaiting you on Christmas Day.
