Mixing in the folkier side of Bob Dylan alongside Woody Guthrie and Neil Young, American band The Low Anthem are the very epitome of the term Americana. Mixing in healthy doses of folk, roots and some minor gospel influence, each of the tracks on the group’s newest record Smart Flesh sound as though they could have been authentically recorded in the early 1960’s. Tracks worth checking out include Matter of Time, Apothecary Love and the pleasantly surprising bombast of Boeing 737.
