Probably the most noticeable quality about the newest long player from synth-pop heroes The Killers is the fact they seem hungry again. The songs are energetic, more direct and willing to cut to the chase than some of the group’s prior wor. Instead of questioning if they are human (or if they’re dancer), there is a human (pardon the pun) element to these songs that deal with failed dreams and failed love. It all makes for perhaps one of the group’s most solid efforts from front to back.
