It has been a long 16 years but at long last, the original “classic” lineup of seminal alt.country band The Jayhawks has returned and delivered a stellar record to herald their rebirth. Driven by the rustic harmonies of co-founders Gary Louris and Mark Olson, their voices serve to complement the earthy organic tones of the 14 tracks and DVD included in this set. Listening to Mockingbird Time is like sitting down and getting reacquainted with a long lost friend. If the past 16 years have taught us anything, it is that everyone in The Jayhawks is more than capable of flying on their own but when they come together, it is a force like few other groups can offer.
