The sophomore record from Vancouver’s Dustin Bentall shows a remarkable amount of growth as a singer-songwriter in the two years since his 2007 debut Streets With No Lights. Although that record showed glimpses of what could lay in store for Bentall, Six Shooter confirms those suspicions with a strong set of songs that lay somewhere in the shadows of Neil Young with hints of Moncton’s The Divorcees thrown in for good measure.
Highlights on the set include upbeat honky-tonkin’ songs like “Three Thousand Miles”, “Arizona”, and “Six Shooter” while Bentall proves to be equally captivating on high and lonesome songs like “Take The Money And Run”, “Pomtiac” and album opener “Railroad”.
