Despite the fact they only began achieving widespread international success around 2006 with their hit Chasing Cars, Scottish band Snow Patrol have been plugging away at their brand of Brit-pop since their 1998 debut record. Although Coldplay might be the easiest and laziest comparison to make, influences of Travis and The Fray also dominate the band’s sound.
Up To Now is appropriately named as calling a collection such as this a hits package could be hugely misleading. Assembling hits, rarities, live tracks and three new songs, the band delivers a whopping 30 songs spread over two CDs.
Aside from Chasing Cars, there are numerous other tracks worth hearing such as a surprisingly great cover of Beyonce’s Crazy In Love, Set The Fire To The Third Bar, The Golden Floor, Give Me Strength and Run.
