After more than 50 years in the game, you’d think there wasn’t much the legendary Rolling Stones hadn’t already done, but the group lived another first this past March when they performed before a seemingly endless audience in Cuba, estimates of which ranged from a couple of hundred thousand to more than a million. This concert was so much more than just another run-of-the-mill Stones show, however, a fact that isn’t lost on the band itself. To see audience members in tears before the group even plays one note helps highlight the significance of the occasion in a country where rock and roll had been effectively banned since the early 60’s. Kicking off with “Jumpin’ Jack Flash,” the band hits the ground running, tearing through a set that features expected songs like “Brown Sugar,” “Honky Tonk Women,” “Midnight Rambler” and “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction,” but also sees the group reaching outside of their comfort zone to perform Bridges To Babylon’s “Out Of Control” and Exile On Main St.’s “All Down The Line.”
