Toronto band The Golden Dogs have unleashed a stream of critically-adored pop albums that have endeared them to a loyal fan base but haven’t exactly caught fire with the masses. With their latest offering, 3 ½, the Dogs continue their ambitious reach to expand their sound, kicking the EP off with the decidedly groovy “Undecided” before moving into unabashed New Wave territory with “Do It For You” and “Pretending.” The scrappy nature of “Parade” and the expansive “Spider Legs” only adds to the charms that 3 ½ has such little difficulty delivering upon.
