With his newest musical pursuit, songwriter Chris Carrabba is (for the moment) saying goodbye to emo and hello to the world of folk-inspired music, which originally inspired him to pick up the guitar. While considering the debut record from Twin Forks to be a strict folk album might be a bit of a stretch, many of the elements are there from an instrumental perspective. Stacked up against the easy targets of Mumford & Sons and the Lumineers, Twin Forks are arguably the best of the bunch, leveraging Carrabba’s wealth of experience into music that sounds and feels utterly genuine.
