Boasting a collection of music that ranges from jazz greats like Cannonball Adderley to the Latin rhythm of Joe Cuba and Jimmy Castor along with more contemporary fare (Billy Joel, The Lemonheads covering Mrs. Robinson), there is a little something for everyone with this soundtrack. Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings deliver a killer version of the Shirley Bassey’s classic song Goldfinger while Howlin’ Wolf’s Smokestack Lightning is as truly memorable today as it was upon release in 1956. Overall, a mixed bag of music but it is that diversity that helps make the album anything but a run-of-the-mill soundtrack.
