On Volume One, Devin Cuddy and his band pay tribute to a bygone era of country music (think back to George Jones and Hank Williams Sr.) but with many a modern twist. After all, it is difficult to picture Hank Sr. singing a song like the tongue-in-cheek “My Son’s A Queer” but that is all a part of Cuddy’s charm. The band boasts top-notch musicianship, as heard on album opener Dancin’ and East Coast Bred but the fact is, there’s nary a dud on the album’s dozen tracks.
