Review of The Black Keys – Turn Blue (Warner Music Canada)

Black KeysIf their last album could be equated to a starter’s pistol, Turn Blue is intended to be the slow, steady way that The Black Keys win the race. And with that determination comes a greater musical reliance upon psychedelic grooves: The band evokes the ghosts of Pink Floyd on “Weight Of Love” and “Waiting On Words” while first single “Fever” and ”10 Lovers” are certain to please those who fell in love with the band over their last two albums. Although not as immediate as 2011’s El Camino, there are some absolute gems to be found on Turn Blue.
