Contrary to Gene Simmons recent assertion that rock and roll is dead, former Guns N Roses guitarist Slash and his band of merry men are here to prove otherwise with their newest record World On Fire. Opening with the blistering title track, the album as a whole is based around meaty guitar riffs, impressive guitar solos, a powerful vocalist and a solid rhythm section. They might not be rewriting the book on rock and roll but Slash and his cohorts know better than to mess with the sound too extensively. If you need a rock and roll fix, check out album tracks “Wicked Stone,” “Too Far Gone” and “Withered Delilah.”
