One of Portugal The Man’s best qualities is their ability to incorporate so many different sounds and textures into the scope of one record. Their newest album of synth-driven psych-pop pushes those same boundaries as they have done in the past but with the benefit of having acclaimed producer Danger Mouse in their corner. These 12 songs are as melodic as anything they have created in the past but there is an added accessibility that wasn’t quite as prevalent on prior efforts.
