Picture it…Washington, D.C….1970. The iconic Neil Young has just released his third solo record, After The Gold Rush, and takes up a residency of sorts at the Cellar Door, performing six solo shows armed only with his voice, his acoustic guitar and a piano. And while some songs from …Gold Rush are featured (Tell Me Why, After The Gold Rush, Only Love Can Break Your Heart), it is hearing Old Man (two years before it would appear on Harvest) along with a solo version of Cinnamon Girl (played on piano) that helps this set be positively extraordinary. Then again, would you expect anything less from Neil Young?
