From the time of his 2006 debut through 2010’s Mobile Chateau, Matt Costa’s influences were getting older and older. From the McCartney-esque feel of his first two albums through the Zombies-influence of Chateau, Matt Costa continues his chameleon-like ways with his latest record. Taking a page from songwriters including Donovan (Eyes For You) and Double Fantasy-era John Lennon (Good Times), Costa never lets his impeccable taste in musical influences overpower his sense of originality. Clocking in at just over 30 minutes, Costa has delivered one of the best pop records of the year so far.
