Moncton jazz-fusion group Les Paiens has never been shy about taking chances, pushing the boundaries of their genre for the last two decades. With the introduction of multi-instrumentalist Jonah Hache, the group takes another definitive leap forward, crafting songs that range from the infectious (just try to get the bass line from “Septembre” out of your head after you’ve heard it) to more experimental fare such as the three interludes that break up the album. Unafraid of taking chances with their music, Les Paiens knock it out of the park with Carte Blanche.
