Not every band is fortunate enough to get a second chance in the music business but with their 2013 album, Save Rock And Roll, Fall Out Boy returned to even greater heights than what greeted them last decade. Would lightning strike the group yet again? At first observation, American Beauty / American Psycho doesn’t seem to flow as well nor boast the consistency of its predecessor. It’s not all bad news, however. First single “Centuries” has some a punch to it, as does “Jet Pack Blues” and “The Kids Aren’t Alright.” Perhaps this will be a record that grows on me with repeated listens. Until then, however, the jury is out.
