Review: Brent Mason – All The Pretty Horses (Left-Handed Records)

Brent MasonOne of New Brunswick’s true unsung musical heroes, Saint John’s Brent Mason has successfully lived and breathed music for the last two decades and with good reason: His contemplative folk rock, proudly displayed throughout All The Pretty Horses strikes all the right chords and for all of the right reasons: Mason’s voice anchors the music, gently guiding the musicians backing him, helping make tracks such as the lovely Ron Hynes tribute “Hynesight,” and the reflective “When Jesus Met Whiskey” incredibly easy on the ears.
