After finding widespread acclaim for his 2015 effort Shadows In The Night, where he covered a collection of songs taken from the Great American Songbook, Bob Dylan returns for another round with Fallen Angels. While the iconic Dylan has weathered much negative press in regards to his vocals over the course of the last decade, Fallen Angels, like its predecessor, sees the singer in full-on crooner mode, dispelling the ridiculous notion that his voice is somehow not up to snuff as he gets older. The musical arrangements are naturally simplistic and largely minimalist, which helps to best serve the timeless nature of tracks like “It Had To Be You,” “Young At Heart,” “Skylark” and “That Old Black Magic.”
