There is a cohesiveness and clarity running through Blue Rodeo’s excellent new studio album that is positively invigorating to hear. The fact the group is on the doorstep of celebrating the 30th anniversary of their debut record makes the feat all the more remarkable. Speaking of remarkable, the musical interplay between the group’s members has never been stronger than what you’ll hear on 1000 Arms. While the group has long been one of Canada’s best concert acts, they have managed to take the infectious energy of their live show and deliver what I feel is one of the most upbeat and well-rounded studio efforts since their turn of the century release The Days In Between. Whether you’re somehow new to Blue Rodeo or a longtime fan, the band has hit it out of the park with 1000 Arms.
