Peter Gabriel has never been one afraid to walk down new paths. On New Blood, he explores gems from his solo catalogue and reinvents them as lush, orchestrated pieces with no percussion to be found. Serving as a companion piece to his 2010 effort Scratch My Back where he covered the likes of Paul Simon, Radiohead and Arcade Fire, I felt as though Gabriel is best enjoyed when pursuing his own material. There is a certain elegance heard in tracks including In Your Eyes, Solsbury Hill and Digging In The Dirt that helps give a bold new perspective to Gabriel’s songs.
