Pantera – Vulgar Display of Power (Deluxe Edition) (Warner Music Canada)

While Cowboys From Hell had established Pantera’s brand of heavy-sludge metal, it was their 1992 record Vulgar Display of Power that served to show their fans that these Southern boys were not fooling around. Opening with Mouth For War, the group pulverizes the listener with relentless guitar riffs and vocalist Phil Anselmo’s anguished voice. This reissue collects the original record, tacks on a previously unreleased song (Piss) and includes a DVD featuring the band performing six songs from a 1992 show in Italy. This record has stood the test of time for a very good reason.
