Since forming in New Orleans in 2001, indie rockers Mutemath have always marched to the beat of their own drummer. As they have done with their two prior efforts, the group continues pulling together a high-energy, eclectic blend of electronic and rock music, indulging their creative side on tracks like the bluesy title track, instrumental track Sun Ray and Tell Your Heart Heads Up. While Mutemath isn’t exclusively about the weird, I feel it is these moments where they shine the brightest. And though commercial success might be a pipedream for the band, I feel they are making some of the most original, infectious music available to fans today.
