The very honest, confessional nature of the tracks contained on Michou’s second record had me immediately comparing the group to Death Cab For Cutie’s brand of dreamy indie pop, right down to vocalist Mike Hargreaves’ voice. As you get a little deeper into the record, you realize the comparison isn’t entirely unwarranted but the Windsor-based Michou rely more on the sunny side of things where DCFC can delve into darker territory. In a perfect world, these guys would be huge. Highlights worth checking out include Windsor, Growing Younger and Struggling To Connect.
