The son of Crowded House vocalist Neil Finn, Liam Finn branches out in many different musical directions on Fomo, his second full-length release. Showing that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, Finn incorporates pop music throughout the record yet manages to keep things interesting with the addition of both electronic and acoustic flourishes. His father’s influence is most noticeable on tracks like Cold Feet, Chase The Seasons and Real Late while other tracks such as The Struggle and Jump Your Bones show Finn is more than comfortable stepping out into territory that his father hadn’t previously traveled. Ultimately, it is a combination of these two sides of his personality that help make Fomo such a compelling listen.
