Gary Clark Jr. – Blak and Blu (Warner Music Canada)

Arguably one of the finest blues-rock guitarists to wield the six strings, Gary Clark Jr. has been earned comparisons to the likes of Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughn. Pretty heavy comparisons for the young guitarist but they are not entirely off base. Clark embraces a number of different musical styles on Blak and Blu including R&B on the title track, Stax-influenced soul on Ain’t Messin’ ‘Round and of course, the blues on When My Train Pulls In and Numb.  Clark fuses these genres together and makes them sound sweeter than ever on Blak and Blu.
