Mark Mulcahy was the former front man for the band Miracle Legion as well as the group Polaris who served as the house band on the short-lived TV show The Adventures Of Pete and Pete in the early to mid 90s. After Mulcahy unexpectedly lost his wife Melissa in the fall of 2008, the remarkable array of artists assembled here banded together to help Mulcahy continue making music while raising his twin daughters.
Among the artists paying tribute to Mulcahy’s beautiful catalogue of work are Radiohead’s Thom Yorke, The National, Dinosaur Jr, Frank Black, Ben Kweller, REM’s Michael Stipe, Hayden and Juliana Hatfield.
With 21 tracks on the CD (and another 20 tracks available digitally), one only wishes there was a more positive reason behind paying tribute to Mulcahy’s career to date.
