One of New Brunswick’s most gifted musicians, big man Matt Andersen is getting set to launch his new record Coal Mining Blues in a short two weeks time. Andersen is no stranger to music fans on the Canadian East Coast but has also been wowing crowds right across the country and around the world, having performed at folk festivals in Calgary and Edmonton while also landing a sweet show at the Glastonbury Festival. Not only was Andersen the first Canadian to win at the prestigious ‘International Blues Challenge’ in Memphis for Best Solo Performer, he was also voted ‘Acoustic Artist of the Year’ as well as ‘Entertainer of the Year’ at this years Maple Blues Awards.
Coal Mining Blues was recorded at the studio of legend Levon Helm and features fellow Canuck Colin Linden in the producer’s chair.
