Wintersleep – Hello Hum (EMI Music Canada)

  • by Ken Kelley
  • June 14, 2012

With each new record, it seems as though Halifax natives Wintersleep indulge their listeners while most likely also indulging themselves. There are no drastic left turns in sound waiting in the wings of Hello Hum. What is perhaps most noticeable about the 11 songs on this record is the group embracing a somewhat optimistic outlook via their songs while also reaching into the realm of electronics to help flush out their sound. Longtime fans need not worry that the group has abandoned where they came from; Saving Song and Rapture are but two of the songs that will hold much appeal for those fans.
