Review of Steve Earle – The Warner Bros. Years (Shout Factory)

Steve EarleNot many artists can emerge from the throes of addiction a stronger, better musician but leave it up to Steve Earle to do just that. This collection assembles three of his best albums from the mid 90’s (Train A Comin’, I Feel Alright and El Corazon) but also offers a previously unissued CD (Live At The Polk Theatre) as well as a DVD of a 1996 performance at the Cold Creek Correctional Facility in Tennessee. The former is an acoustic show while the latter is an electric, full-band affair, giving a glimpse into the artist coming into his prime.
