Review of Jellyfish – Radio Jellyfish (Universal Music Canada)

JellyfishIn my humble opinion, Jellyfish remain one of the biggest unsung power pop bands of modern times. Radio Jellyfish assembles 10 tracks from the group’s various radio performances in 1993 when the group was most likely promoting their sophomore record Spilt Milk. Armed only with their pristine vocals harmonies, acoustic guitars, keyboards and minimal percussion, this collection offers a unique, unplugged sort of take on their sugary sweet pop anthems. Their covers of The Move’s I Can Hear The Grass Grow and Badfinger’s No Matter What are practically spot on while original material shines just as brightly.
