Review of Autumns Cannon – Open Letter (604 Records)

ACcoverSQUAREAutumn’s Cannon just might be in line to inherit the title of “Canada’s band” from The Tragically Hip at some time in the future. While the group sounds as though they have more in common with Tom Petty and Bruce Springsteen than the Hip, you can’t blame them for boasting of these great influences. They ultimately deliver more than a few good moments here including the anthemic Shake It Off, Let The Money Run Dry and Faded Lights. Autumns Cannon might not be reinventing the wheel but that doesn’t mean that any of these 10 songs are any less cool.
