Review: Bryan Adams – Get Up (Universal Music Canada)

Bryan AdamsThroughout his deservedly long career, Bryan Adams has maintained a fervently dedicated following, but, for the most part, he has generally played it safe with his studio efforts. Get Up is the exception to that rule. Guided by producer Jeff Lynne, Adams delivers one of his finest records since Reckless, showing he is unafraid to stretch beyond what fans have come to expect from him. Lynne’s influence is especially obvious on Traveling Wilbury-esque tracks like “That’s Rock and Roll” and “Don’t Even Try,” but it is on the album’s rocking first single “You Belong To Me” and “Yesterday Was Just A Dream” that Adams brings a little something new to the table that helps give the album an exciting advantage over his last couple of studio records.
