Kyle Johnsen – The East Coast Rambler (Independent)

  • by Ken Kelley
  • January 10, 2013

kyle johnsenANew Denmark might not be considered one of the province’s bustling musical centres but if the debut effort from Kyle Johnsen is any indication, perhaps we should be paying a little more attention to these small towns. Johnsen wanders into folk-country territory with the 12 songs featured here with good results. The subtle, sparse treatment given to these songs helps Johnsen to sound as though he is singing with the wisdom and experience of someone more than twice his age.
