To a crowd of elated fans, Charlottetown’s Death Valley Driver were crowned, by a panel of industry professionals, the winner of the Clash of the Bands to perform at Rock the Hill in Halifax, Nova Scotia on July 14th alongside such bands as Metallica, Coheed and Cambria, Seether, Protest the Hero and Matt Mays.
“Getting to play with Metallica is beyond anything we could have ever imagined. We’re still in shock. Big thanks to Rock The Hill for allowing a Maritime band to play on the same stage as these world-class bands. We can’t wait to hit the stage,” commented singer Dan Hodgson.
The band’s debut album ‘Choke the River’ was released on May 5th by Diminished Fifth Records and has has spend an incredible 9 weeks on the earshot Loud Charts in Canada and has received praise from publications such as Exclaim! Magazine, Metal Storm, Cosmic Lava and others.
